This summer we return to the Psalms together. The Psalms are unlike much of the rest of the Bible. It's not stories to learn from, statements to believe, or lessons to  apply. The Psalms invite us to sing, to bring our hopes and griefs, and get caught up in what God is doing.  Join us!

This Sunday morning’s message is based on Psalm 28 and is titled “How Do I Respond in Wicked Times?”

Sunday Morning at 10:30, Pastor Joe will continue the “Dear Philemon” series with a message titled “What Motivates Joyful Obedience?” based on Philemon verses 8 - 25. Sunday evening at 6:00 we will start a new series of study titled “The Cross Has Spoken” Please join us.

This Month at MBC!

Thanks for the donations to Operation Christmas Child last month.  Keep up the good work!  If you didn’t get the flier in last week’s bulletin, there are more on the back counter.  This month we are collecting things like quality toys, tools and music makers.

Prep work is underway for VBS.  We still could use some helpers.  Please sign up!

As a prelude to VBS we will have “Fun in the Park” each Tuesday, June 25, July 2 and July 9.   We will have Games and Refreshments available from 10 - 12 noon.

July 15 - 19 from 9 - 11 AM will be VBS for kids ages preschool through 6th grade.

Sunday evening, July 21 at 6:00 PM will be a VBS wrap up program instead of evening service.

Philemon is not simply a letter about what one man 2000 years ago should do with his slave who wronged him. It is a letter about how every Christian should apply the gospel to our lives and relationships. Join us as we answer the question "What should I do with the grace of God?"

Luke 24: 25 Then Jesus said to them, “You foolish people!  You find it so hard to believe all that the profits wrote in scriptures.”

Jacob and Makenzie Goble:  The newest missionaries that we support are planting a church in Lebanon, IL, the home of McKendree University.  They have been there for three years and are making headway in an area that had no evangelistic churches in the area.  In April they purchased a building that will soon be their church meeting place.

Announcements, May 12, 2024 Happy Mother’s Day

This Sunday Morning at 10:30 AM, Pastor Joe will use Ezra chapter 8 as the basis for his message titled “How Can I Know I Am on the Right Track?” There will be no Sunday Evening Service.

Today We Welcome Richard Nations! Richard is the Association Mission Strategist for the Sandy Creek Baptist Association.

This morning, Richard’s message titled “Let’s Go fishing” is taken from Luke 5: 1 - 11. This evening he will bring a message from Daniel 1 titled “Remain Faithful in Times of Adversity”. We hope you can join us!

Announcements, April 28, 2024

Sunday morning’s message is titled “How Do I Live While I Am Waiting?” and is based on Ezra chapter 7. Sunday evening we will continue studying the book of Jude.

Thursday, May 2 is World Day of Prayer! Our church doors will be unlocked from 5:30 AM to around 8:00 PM.  You are encouraged  to come and pray at the altar.  There will be lists of suggested prayer requests.  Come take advantage of this privilege we have.

Thursday, April 18 at 6:30 PM, the Ladies Bible Study group will study the last part of the book of Esther. 

To conclude our Esther Bible Study series, we will have an “Esther Banquet” and watch the Esther movie, straight from the Sight and Sound Theatre in Branson.  It will be on Thursday, April 25, at 6:30 PM.  If you attended the Bible Study class thus far and plan to attend the banquet, please let Rhonda know.

Help Support Westfair Christian Academy and enjoy a great meal!

Dates are set! This year VBS will be held from July 15 through 19 from 9 - 11 AM.

Thursday evening will be busy this week! We will start the evening at 5:00 PM filling eggs for the Easter Egg Hunt coming up on Saturday morning. Remember, “many hands make light work”! At 6:30 PM the ladies will continue their study of the Book of Easter. Ladies can join in at any time.

The Bible spends more space on the week Jesus died that any year before. This March, we are going to slow down to see why. We are going to pay attention to what happens on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday in the Gospel of Mark. We need to know why that week matters so much.

Have you picked up a Baby Bottle to fill with cash or checks for the benefit of the Pregnancy Resource Center? This is one of their major fund raisers each year. The campaign ends February 25.

Beginning Thursday, February 22, Rhonda Wahl will be leading a Ladies Bible Study on Esther.  She will have more details soon.  Be praying about your participation.  We will meet each Thursday at 6:30 PM.

We could use some help serving the kids at Winchester on Monday, January 22. You can meet at the church or go directly to the first Baptist Church in Winchester.

Cookies are also needed. If you could donate two dozen cookies or brownies, (individually bagged) it would be appreciated. Bring them to MBC Sunday, please. We usually serve over 100 students!

The Pregnancy Resource Center Baby Bottle Campaign is going on now. The money goes for 1) material for the HOPE Mentor Program, 2) Further education for all Clients, and 3) Impacting Families for lifelong change. Pick up your bottle at the church, fill it with change bills or checks and return it by February 25.
