Life has battles. Sometimes the battle is outside us with a person or situation. Sometimes it is inside us with temptation, guilt, fear, or longing.
This Fall, we are going to look at God's promises and actions in the book of Exodus. We will find that God's people--then and now--face giant battles and hopeless obstacles. We will also find that God's promise is always, "I will fight for you."
Wednesday, September 8 at 6:30 PM

Operation Christmas Child is a non-profit organization that provides shoe boxes filled with gifts to needy children around the world. Often, these gifts are the only new things that child has received in their lifetime. The children attend a presentation of the gospel and receive a booklet called “The Greatest Gift” when the boxes are distributed. This may also be the first time they are exposed to the gospel. The children may also participate in The Greatest Journey—a 12‑lesson discipleship program. Children learn from trained, local volunteers what it means to follow Jesus and share their faith with friends and family.
We at Manchester Baptist Church are excited to participate in this program again this year. Ways to take part include:
taking a box and filling it yourself, you decide if you want to fill for a boy or girl and the age range (please include $9.00 for shipping each box you fill),
purchasing items and bringing them to the church to be used to fill boxes during our packing party on October 24,
donating cash ($25.00 suggested) to purchases items for the boxes.
You may also designate an offering for The Greatest Journey which costs $6.00 for each child participating.
In case you are not aware, the First Sunday Mission Offering that is collected each month during Sunday School is used to help offset costs of shipping the boxes.
If you have questions, please see Andrea Campbell who has prepared a display in the Fellowship Hall to give you ideas of what kind of gifts to include in your boxes. Lists of suggested items and items that are not allowed are also available on the table.
